Thyone is one of Jupiter's 79 Moons, and is also known as Jupiter XXIX. It is about 4 kilometers in diameter, and orbits Jupiter at an average distance of 21.406 million kilometers. It's orbit around Jupiter lasts 639.803 days. It was discovered in 2001 by astronomers at the University of Hawaii and was called S/2001 J 2, but was renamed to Thyone in August, 2003. Thyone belongs to the Ananke group of Jupiter's satellites.
