OGLE-2016-BLG-1195L b, also referred to as Hoth by some media outlets, is an extrasolar terrestrial planet located 22,000 light years (6745 parsecs) away from Earth in the constellation Scorpious. It orbits OGLE-2016-BLG-1195L, a very dim, small, and cool ultra-cool dwarf (or possibly brown dwarf) that is only 7.8% the size of the Sun.
Initially, the planet was believed to have roughly the same mass as Earth while orbiting at nearly the same distance as Earth does from the Sun. However, the mass estimate of the planet was significantly increased in 2023 to around 9.91 Earth masses, meaning the planet is likely an ice giant similar to Neptune.
