NGC 772 (also known as Arp 78) is an unbarred spiral galaxy approximately 130 million light-years away in the constellation Aries. It's located some 130 million light-years away in the constellation Aries and is moving away from Earth at 2472 kilometers per second.

Characteristics[]

NGC 772 is about twice the size of the Milky Way Galaxy and is surronded by satellite galaxies which caused one of NGC 772's arm to be disorted and disrupted by NGC 770, one of the galaxies. Two supernovae (SN 2003hl and SN 2003iq) have been observed in NGC 772, both of them as Type II supernova.
