Mimas is a small major moon of Saturn, located inside its Rings. It is slightly closer than the neighboring major moon Enceladus. It is occasionally referred to as the "Death Star moon" because of its resemblance to the Death Star from Star Wars.

Mimas‘s most famous feature is definitely the Herschel Crater. This impact almost destroyed Mimas itself and is also what became the giant hole in the "Death Star." Mimas is one of the smallest objects in the Solar System rounded by its own gravity. The moon is very grey and, other than the unusually large crater, is very much like the far side of our Moon.
