LHS 3844 b is an extrasolar planet located 48 light years away from Earth in the constellation Indus. It orbits a red dwarf star named LHS 3844. It was one of the first exoplanets discovered by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS).
Overview[]
LHS 3844 b orbits its host star, LHS 3844, at 0.06839 AU, which is extremely close, only taking around 11 hours to complete an orbit around it. Because of its extreme proximity to the star, it is unlikely to have retained any atmosphere, due to the stellar radiation it receives. The planet has a radii of about 1.320 times that of Earth's and a mass 2.25 times that of Earth.
