Gliese 436 c is an extrasolar planet, orbiting Gliese 436 in the constellation of Leo of a distance 33.4 light years. The planet was discovered in 23 Janurary 2008. Gliese 436 c is one the extrasolar planets that has a close resemblance similar to Earth.

Discovery[]

In 2008, Gliese 436 c was claimed to have been discovered. It had an estimated orbital period of 5.2 days and an semimajor axis of 0.045 AU. It was later re-classified as retracted canidate exoplanet at the Transiting Planet conference in Boston, 2008.
