Sun

The Sun is a G-type main-sequence star

A G-type main-sequence star (Spectral type: G-V), often (and imprecisely) called a "yellow dwarf", or "G dwarf star", is a main-sequence star (luminosity class V) of spectral type G. A G-type main-sequence star can have 0.84 to 1.15 solar masses, and a surface temperature between 5,300 and 6,000 K. The Sun (G2V), 51 Pegasi (G5V), Kepler-6 (G5V-III), and 40 Eridani (G9V), are examples of G type stars.
