Kepler-78 is a star, located in the constellation of Cygnus. It is located around 410 light years from Earth. This star has a radius of about 74% of the Sun, and a temperature of about 5089 K (8700 °F, 4815 °C).

Planetary system[]

Kepler-78 currently has a planetary system, with currently one known planet, Kepler-78b. Kepler-78b is a planet slightly bigger than Earth which an orbit that is extremely close to its parent star. The orbital period of this planet is about 8.5 hours, because of its proximity to the star. While it has a similar density to the Earth (at 5.57 g/cm3), its surface temperature is around 1300 to 1500 K.
